A few times each month we pick out several of our shelter pets, give them a good scrubbing in the tub or extra brushing, and go out on the town to look for good homes! It's fun and good socialization for them, and a great opportunity for you to meet your new best friend.

Pets are not allowed to be taken home directly from our satellite adoption events. Instead, we ask that you fill out an application at the event and then give us a call on the following business day. We do this so that you have some time to think about it without having to make a hurried decision, and to allow us time to review applications for approval. If we both agree that this is the pet for you, then we can arrange a time that's convenient for you to pick up your new furry friend from our shelter.

For more information please go to our adoption process page. We do require a fenced yard for most of our dogs, though there may be some dogs who are appropriate for apartment living or circumstances where a fence may not be required.

Dog-N-Jog
Sunday, June 9
The Country Club Plaza
7am to 10:30am

More than a thousand people and several hundred dogs will invade The Country Club Plaza that morning to walk or run. Celebrity emcees including Gary Lezak will be on hand to start the races. There will be entertainment such as a raffle, an agility course, music and more! Be sure to visit the HSGKC Adoption Tent to meet our adoptable dogs!
