Shine is a big handsome Shepherd/Lab mix. He's 6 years old and he's smart, sweet and loyal. Shine's had a rough life-- he was taken during a drug house raid. It took some love and patience to gain his trust, but he's a resilient guy and he has really blossomed into a happy dog. He most likely will need a home without other pets.

Dogs & cats with black coats are often the last to be adopted. And Shine is just one of the many wonderful black dogs & cats residing at our shelter right now. We realize that Shine has special circumstances that make him even more difficult to find a home for, but we feel confident that we'd have found a home for him by now if he was not a big black dog.

A few reasons to adopt a black coated dog or cat: Black is elegant, goes with everything, it hides dirt... and we're pretty sure that being seen with a black dog or cat makes you look thinner! And most of all-- you'll end up with a great companion who's just as loving and fun as any other color.
